The Orlando Sharks will recognize the Teacher of the Year winners from the public school districts of Seminole, Orange and Osceola Counties in a ceremony prior to the MISL team’s inaugural season home finale versus the Chicago Storm on Saturday, April 5 at the Amway Arena. The on-field recognition is scheduled for 7:15pm with the Sharks/Storm game to follow at 7:35pm.
“These are extraordinary individuals who represent hundreds of true heroes preparing our children for the opportunities and challenges of the future,” said Sharks President Rich Bradley, a former university instructor. “To be able to celebrate these folks as our honored guests in the arena on Saturday is one of our highlights of the year, and consistent with our goals of supporting youth and those who nurture their positive growth.”
The winning teachers will attend a private reception at the arena before being individually recognized on the field and video board as part of the Sharks’ Fan Appreciation Night, presented by Orlando Regional Healthcare and sponsored by Air Tran Airlines. Thousands of dollars worth of prizes will be awarded throughout the night during the game and at intermissions.
